This guy’s emails were extremely fishy with some odd details. I looked up reports on tutor scams on craigslist and found them very similar to the ones already reported. Then I asked myself what is a UN peacekeeper doing in Eastern Oregon? Here is the scam:

“I am pleased with whatever arrangement you could have made now concerning the hours to be having him the tutorial.Is name is Mike and he speaks danish and alil bit english language but not fluently.Okay according to the distances i think i will inform the nanny about it and she can be bringing him to you for the lesson wherever you have been choosing to be comfortable for you ,and this will bring him closer to your family and emulate a good morales from them.I would like to you get prepared starting with him by the middle of the month and i think that will be sometimes next two week.But as a teen tutor you should realize a better time table and housr to be taking kids and will be welcome with me.Nevermind,i will be making a payment of a month for this calaculated three hours every week,i guess it would be a cost fee of $720 by my own calaculation here and would like to make this payment out to you in a check,such that i will not finish with the money cos we have just been paid our royalties.i worked under the united nation as a peace keeping force. while i have lil time to visit home this time around while mike has been staying with his grandma before i finally take him to a nanny.Furthermore,i may required you not to recommend Fridays though, because all children have the concept of “Its friday, no more school!” and tend to have a hard time concentrating on fridays. And i would want you to give me a weekly reports and send me copies of your lesson plans for each lesson before or after the time of the lesson through the nanny.Nevertheless, I have also attached a picture of my son Mike with the nanny so that you will know how she and mike looks when you set to meet.I wish i have make myself cleared to you now and hoping you will take up this offer , Because i have made contacts with my son concerning the arrangement of the tutoring which he told me is ok by him because i always want the best for my son in life.i will be looking forward to hearing from you again.i would await the your information, so i can proceed on the payment asap.

I guess Eastern Oregon has a problem with Somali pirates or something. ‘Is name is Mike’? Wow. This guy wasn’t even trying.

Good morales? Pedro Morales? The first triple crown WWF title holder?

I’m curious to know if he actually included a picture of Mike Jnr. and what the picture looked like.

I guess he was waiting for the response before setting up his proposed victim for the fake check scam. Luckily Krysta was smart enough to do her research.

33-year-old Christopher S. Johnson, an academic adviser for THE Ohio State University was arrested for raffling off a craigslist hooker at a house party. The alleged hooker was 31-year-old Vanise M. Dunn whose day job is with Franklin County Children Services. The house party was held to honor a bunch of deviants who have nothing better to do than rate the hookers they’ve gotten off of craigslist.

Also arrested were 42-year-old Rusty Blades (Really?) who hosted one of the parties and Hania E. Novembre who Blades rented the house to who worked one of the parties.

62-year-old Stephen Arnold Clark of Kennett Township, Pa. was arrested for allegedly running a craigslist whore house.

Also arrested were Cara Briana Martin, 31, and Lacey Nicole Welsh, 20, for allegedly being craigslist hookers and other charges.

On his craigslist ads Clark said his house was near the local high school. I wonder what made him think that was not going to invite attention from police.

40-year-old J.P. Weichel of Loveland, Colorado was apparently angry with his ex-girlfriend. So like any other maladjusted individual that hangs out on craigslist he posted things about her in their Rant and Raves section. If you’ve never been there it makes YouTube comments look like the most enlightened and well thought out piece of literature you’ve ever read.

Anyway, getting back to Mr. Weichel he posted on craigslist that his ex traded sex for legal services from her lawyer and that child services paid her a visit because of an injury on their kid.

Bad move for Mr. Weichel because now he’s been charged with criminal libel.

Once again everyone has their panties all wadded up saying that this is an assault against free speech. That depends on if Mr. Weichel’s statements are true or not. Let’s go with the assumption that Mr. Weichel is a lying sack of crap. If that was the case then Mr. Weichel’s speech would be considered libel. Now if half the people claiming first amendment bothered to take a civics class then they would know that libel is not a protected form of speech.

TV station WTNH from New Haven, Conn. thought it would see if craigslist new measures to limit erotic services ads has had any effect. Basically, it hasn’t.

They also talked to Ray Bechard, the founder of Ahava Kids which help rescues Connecticut kids from prostitution. He had something familiar to say.

“Well, here’s what I don’t understand — Craigslist has on its website, under services, a category called ‘erotic’ — if they just removed that, the problem would be mostly solved,” Bechard said.

What a novel concept. I wonder why no one has said this before. Oh wait, they have, it was me.

craigslist won’t do it because of all the traffic it brings to their site.

The holiday has put me behind on my postings. This actually happened last week but I’m just getting to it now.

Anyway, one of the craigslist rapists has been sentenced to 25-years behind bars. That would be 53-year-old Ronald Marcus Leistiko of Tigard, Oregon. If you’ll recall Leistiko raped several women, mostly escorts, that he met through their craigslist ads. He also drugged up a minor to rape her as well.

I can live with 25 years but a serial rapist like this needs to be behind bars permanently at least.

Police in Arcadia, California arrested 4 in a craigslist hooker sting. One of the suspects was a 13-year-old girl who had been brought by two other women who were allegedly pimping her out.

So no victims huh?

Special New York City narcotics prosecutor Bridget Brennan is trying to get prosecutors across the country to join her in getting craigslist to eliminate the ads that are for selling illegal drugs. This would be a move not unlike the Attorneys General who ganged up on craigslist to try and get them to limit the erotic services postings.

Ms. Brennan wrote a letter to craigslist almost two weeks ago and not surprisingly has received no response.

Just wanted to share with you this quote from Palm Springs, California police about craigslist’s new measures to limit activity on its erotic services section.

Police are optimistic this will help, but they say the only way to stop the abuse completely would be for Craigslist to stop allowing “erotic services” ads.

That’s not likely to happen.

It seems like I remember someone else saying that too.

47-year-old Anthony William Mattingly of Lexington, Kentucky was arrested for scamming people out of money on craigslist after promising them University of Kentucky season basketball tickets.

The victims would give Mattingly a down payment for tickets then were supposed to pay the rest once the tickets were delivered. Of course there were never any tickets to begin with.

Another family has opened their home to the less fortunate on Thanksgiving by placing an ad on craigslist. This time it was Monique White of Littleton, Colorado. She will have thrity-two people in her house on Thanksgiving.

Joshua Clark Butler, 23, and Dallas Harmon, 22, of Gardnerville, Nevada were arrested for trying to sell a stolen log splitter on craigslist. The actual owner was able to identify his log splitter through the serial number.

Not that I should be giving tips to criminals but if you’re going to sell stolen goods on craigslist you may want to try something more generic than a log splitter.

Police in Fairfield, California arrested 5 during a craigslist hooker sting. Some were arrested for being alleged pimps as well. Those arrested were…

Danita Donohue, 34, of Vallejo; Alsalima Madking, 28, of Fairfield; and Tracey Cloud, 33, of Vacaville, were arrested for prostitution, according to police.

Donohue also faces charges of possession of Ecstasy, and her driver, a 32-year-old Fairfield man named Joel Outlaw, was arrested for parole violation.

Cloud also had an additional charge of conspiracy, and her driver, a 24-year-old Vacaville man named Clifton Davis, was arrested on pimping and conspiracy charges, police said.

Police in Fairfield said that the sting was not only for prostitution but also for other crimes that are associated with it like drugs for example.

Online ad leads to alleged prostitutes:

Those are Kristine Lough, Michelle Farmer and Angelina Casias. They were arrested during a craigslist hooker sting by Albuquerque police.

Now I’m not for using the services of alleged prostitutes but I have to say it seems the alleged hookers in Albuquerque are a lot better looking than say Chattanooga.
