Child molested by craigslist babysitter. Is anyone surprised?

Babysitter accused of sexually assaulting 6-year-old girl:

32-year-old Steven P. Knox of Webster, Texas advertised his services as a babysitter on craigslist. A woman from Clear Lake, Texas needed an overnight babysitter and used his services. So does it come as a shock to anybody that Knox is accused of molesting the woman’s 6-year-old daughter?

According to court records, a 6-year-old girl told investigators that Knox, whom she knew as her babysitter, put his finger in her private area four times. The girl said Knox had put “ice” on his finger and that the penetration had burned.

A sexual assault examination on June 24 at Texas Children’s Hospital showed that the girl had a 3-millimeter tear on her vagina, court records stated.

Why do I get the feeling it was Mineral Ice or Icy Hot or something like that?

When approached by KTRK from Houston Knox claims that he allegedly did not intentionally hurt the girl. He also claims that God talks to him.

Then when we asked Knox if he was sorry for what he did, he replied, “All I know is that God says I would be vindicated, and that I would come out on the clear on this.”

Knox went on to tell Eyewitness News that God speaks to him.

And to make matters even worse Knox is out on $30K bond right now.

But the question that begs to be asked is why in the hell would anyone get a babysitter off of craigslist let alone a 32-year-old man. There’s nothing about that sentence that doesn’t scream child molester.

Police: Ex-Teacher Met Teen Online For Sex:

26-year-old Benjamin Clark Childress was a teacher at Dobie High School in Pasadena, Texas. He resigned the day after he was arrested in Manvel, Texas where he was caught with a 15-year-old boy. Police say that Childress met the boy on craigslist and solicited him for sex.

No word on which of them placed the add on craigslist but this highlights two problems with the site. The first is that obviously no one flagged the ad whether or not is was posted by a 15-year-old looking for sex or a man looking for sex with a teen. The second is this once again goes to show that craigslist has surrendered to the criminals among their users. They still choose to rely on the obviously failed community policing instead of taking actual steps to protect children on their site.

‘Green Christmas’ not what it seems:

Police in Austin, Texas arrested 21-year-old Theresa Janelle Jones after they read the following ad on craigslist…

“Typical Texas Christmas, not a flake of snow. If you ask me, the more green the merrier. I did some mowing today, plenty to spread around. Happy Holidays.”

Of course Austin police made undercover contact with Jones and busted her for selling weed.

I know no dope dealers read this site so I’m confident they won’t see this when I say no matter how carefully coded you think your craigslist ad is, it isn’t and cops do read craigslist. Also once again this shows what goes on when craigslist refuses to moderate their site.

Lubbock pair arrested for backpage child prostitution

Two Lubbock residents arrested in Midland for forcing minor into prostitution; human trafficking:

Police in Midland, Texas arrested Jay Lavone Lloyd, 40, and Taquolia Tameek Thomas, 19, both of Lubbock, during a prostitution sting. Lloyd and Thomas were said to have advertised for prostitution on the Village Voice Media owned backpage.com.

Hardly interesting or surprising but what makes the story even more saddening is that allegedly in tow with Lloyd and Thomas was a 17-year-old high school girl who said Lloyd and Thomas forced her into prostitution.

The 17-year-old girl from Lubbock, who is considered a minor under the state’s prostitution statute, showed up at the room, agreed to have sex and then accepted money, Weatherby said.

She later told authorities that she was given a condom and told to go do whatever the clients wanted.

Hey backpage, how are those ‘steps’ working out? Oh that’s right, not at all apparently.

Again, Geebo.com never had to take steps against child prostitution because it never happened on their site.

Texas man acccused of soliciting a minor on craigslist

Early Man Arrested for Solicitation of a Minor:

Man accused of online solicitation is arrested:

Police in Abilene, Texas arrested 33-year-old Jody Lee Kirklin of Early, Texas on charges of allegedly soliciting a 13-year-old girl for sex on craigslist.

Police aren’t saying if this was part of a sting operation but what we do know is that Kirklin allegedly set up a meeting with the girl at a park where he was arrested. When he was arrested he was found to have had a gun in his car. I realize that it’s Texas but it does make me wonder what exactly his intentions were if the girl was at the meeting instead of police.

Police didn’t say what section of craigslist the ad was on but one could safely assume that it was the casual encounters section. To which I repeat that the casual encounters section at the very least requires moderation since these are the kind of predators that lurk there.

Parents, I wouldn’t let your kids roam free on craigslist.

Woman brought kids to backpage sting

Parker County sting operation nets prostitution arrests:

Police in Parker County, Texas ran a prostitution sting back in August using the Village Voice Media owned backpage.com. In the sting they netted six people for various offenses related to prostitution.

One of the women arrested on prostitution charges allegedly had her 1-year-old child and 10-month-child with her when she went to meet her ‘client’ which turned out to be the police.

That should be something that you’re real proud of backpage. Facilitating the meetings between johns, prostitutes and their kids.

In case you couldn’t tell this is big news.

18 U.S. State Attorneys General have called for craigslist to shut down the adult services section. Among those are Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, Martha Coakley of Massachusetts, Chris Koster of Missouri, Richard Cordray of Ohio, Bob Cooper of Tennessee, Dustin McDaniel of Arkansas, Douglas F. Gansler of Maryland, and Steve Six of Kansas. Not mentioned are the AGs from Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia.

Of course craigslist was quick to pay lip service to the AGs…

Craigslist supports states’ efforts to stop illegal exploitation, spokeswoman Susan MacTavish Best said in a statement that did not indicate whether the website plans to get rid of its adult services section.

Of course they have no intention of getting rid of adult services. Craigslist has a history of flying in the face of common decency.

While this is a big piece of news there’s something missing. It’s easy for these attorneys general to call for craigslist to shut down adult services. There’s only one attorney general who if he put his name behind this movement would have a huge impact. I am of course referring to former governor, former mayor of Oakland, current gubernatorial candidate and current attorney general of California…

Attorney General Brown, we may be politically opposed in some of our views but for a man who cares about the environment and opposes the death penalty I would imagine that you would be opposed to the trafficking of women and children that is being facilitated by craigslist.

Craigslist is headquartered in your home state. In my opinion craigslist’s shameful record when it comes to prostitution, child prostitution and human trafficking is a black eye for the Golden State. If I can’t appeal to your heart I will appeal to your aspirations. How much of a huge political coup would it be in your current gubernatorial race if you got the biggest facilitator of human trafficking in the country to get that section of the website shut down?

Mr. Brown, I beg of you to add your name to that of the other state attorney’s general in asking craigslist to shut down the adult services section. Maybe they will listen to you.

People ask me all the time why I want the casual encounters section of craigslist shut down too. This story is a good reason why.

Pastor George Randall Scott of Bryan, Texas has been arrested for forcing a man he met on craigslist to perform a sex act on him. Don’t feel bad for the ‘victim’ though.

According to police Scott posed as a 20-year-old looking for M4M sex. While corresponding with the victim Scott then said he was 16. Age of consent in Texas is 17. The ‘victim’ said that was no problem and to come on over.

When Scott got to the man’s house he said that he discovered the e-mails in his ‘step-son’s’ e-mail and that he would go to the police if the guy didn’t blow him.

In my opinion both men are sexual predators and there seems to be a lot of them in the casual encounters section.

El Paso parking lot address used in craigslist scam

Scam uses El Paso address: Montana parking lot listed on Craigslist site, police say:

A scammer, supposedly from Scotland, is using the address of a parking lot in El Paso, Teaxs to defraud their victims out of money.

The scammer will post a used car for sale on craigslist and then e-mail potential victims a phony eBay document then would have them wire the scammer the money. Of course there is no car and the scammer runs off with the money.

He would use the El Paso address of 314 Montana as a shipping address and claimed that he is overseas and owns the property or that he is overseas with the military.

Again wiring and overseas should be two red flags to let you know that you’re probably being scammed.
