Ellensburg robbery may have been set up via Craigslist:

Police in Yakima, Washington think an attempted robber was set up through craigslist. The victims were meeting someone to sell a car when they were approached by two gunmen. Luckily the victims got away unharmed.

Craigslist Robber:

A man in Milwaukee had his house broken into after he advertised a large screen TV on craigslist. He gave his address to an ‘interested buyer’ and his house was broken into and a different TV was stolen.

Car buyer robbed, beaten by seller in San Pablo:

A 26-year-old man was beaten and robbed by someone he thought he was buying a car off of craigslist from.

Crofton teen arrested in 3 robberies:

The teenage suspect that police in Annapolis Md. have arrested for the craigslist hold ups has been named.

He is 17-year-old Charles Edward Carroll Jr. of Crofton, Md. He was nabbed carrying two of the alleged stolen cell phones that were taken from one of the victims.

Craigslist crooks pull three stickups:

Police in Annapolis, Md. have arrested a juvenile that was allegedly involved in a series of craigslist related robberies.

The alleged crooks would advertise too good to be true deals on craigslist and when the buyers would show up they would end up being robbed.

Police have also issued an arrest warrant for one Antonio E. Queen of Baltimore. He is still at large. A third suspect is also being sought but his identity has not been made public yet.

In one of the robberies the ad was for a gift card that was being ’sold’ for substantially less than retail value. I never understood this one. If someone is selling a gift card on craigslist for less than retail it’s either a scam or it doesn’t exist.

Five armed men rob New Kensington woman:

A woman from the Pittsburgh area was robbed of money and jewelry by 5 shotgun toting men. The victim had put up her car for sale on craigslist. A woman had responded to the ad and when she went to go sell the car she met the woman who took the car for a test drive and that’s when the victim was robbed.

Florida teen swindled out of an iPod he was selling on craigslist by a Nigerian scammer called “Suzzy Fox”. Also warns that Orionpay is a legitimate business but does not handle money transactions between craigslist users.

Omaha Robber Maces Victim:

An Omaha man was maced, the spray not the flail, and was robbed of a car amplifier by someone posing as buyer on craigslist.

Local Web Sites Lead Police To Prostitution Bust:

Police in the Pittsburgh area have cracked down on prostitution using craigslist and Backpage among other avenues of advertised prostitution.

Victim robbed after trying to sell laptop on Craigslist:

A woman visiting Vallejo, California was robbed when she met with someone who was supposed to be buying her laptop from craigslist.

Police say prostitutes trade street for browser:

Police in Eugene, Oregon arrested a craigslist hooker known as a ‘contortionist’ by ‘hobbyists’ otherwise known as whoremongers. Police also say that in Eugene 15 to 30 prostitution ads a day.

Craigslist prostitutes arrested in Oak Harbor:

Police in Oak Harbor, WA arrested five women in a craigslist prostitution sting.

Two Arrested In Tigard Craigslist Attack:

Remember the beating and robbery that happened in Tigard, Oregon after the victim posted a craigslist ad? The suspects have been caught.

Police arrested Matthew Johansen and Jamie Sweany. Both were arrested on outstanding warrants.

They kind of do look like their police sketches don’t they? What’s up with the no eyebrows anyway?

It’s still unknown what the victim was selling in his craigslist ad.

Police arrest robbery suspect who made floating escape:

Remember the bank robber who used craigslist to enlist decoys? He’s allegedly been caught.

Police arrested 28-year-old Anthony Curcio for the robbery of an armored car in Monroe, Washington. If you’ll recall he used a craigslist ad that said he was hiring workers and for all of them to show up wearing…

“Yellow vest, safety goggles, a respirator mask… and, if possible, a blue shirt,

Then when all hell broke loose he was able to make his escape by allegedly intertubing down the Skykomish River.

A citizen found items in the trash that were used in the robbery and noticed a silver SUV speeding off. The citizen wrote down the license plate and gave it to police.

Free Stuff Ad Leads Thieves To Home:

A woman’s ad on the Portland craigslist led to her home being ransacked. She was giving some stuff away for free but she put something on her ad that just invited the thieves.

“I did put in the ad: ‘Knock on the door and if I’m there, I’ll let you see the rest of the stuff,’

So when she wasn’t there a couple of thieves help themselves to the items in her backyard after busting down the fence.

Who would have thought that criminals look at craigslist?
