Free Stuff Ad Leads Thieves To Home:

A woman’s ad on the Portland craigslist led to her home being ransacked. She was giving some stuff away for free but she put something on her ad that just invited the thieves.

“I did put in the ad: ‘Knock on the door and if I’m there, I’ll let you see the rest of the stuff,’

So when she wasn’t there a couple of thieves help themselves to the items in her backyard after busting down the fence.

Who would have thought that criminals look at craigslist?

Woman Pleads Guilty To Craigslist Scam:

Not all craigslist scammers get away. Lynn Sisto pleaded guilty to theft and Identity theft in Portland, Oregon court yesterday.

Sisto was one of the many scammers who claim to be renting out apartments then collects money from unsuspecting victims. Also as usual Sisto didn’t actually own any of the apartments.

In court she apologized to the victims but at least one victim didn’t buy the apology.

Sisto will be sentenced tomorrow and is expected to get 5 years behind bars.

Craigslist or Crimeslist?:
I have to thank Jim Redden of the Portland Tribune for featuring this humble site in his article about craigslist crime in the Portland, Oregon area. It’s a great article and brings up some great points that I’ll discuss later. But now it’s late and for now I just want to brag a little. 8-)
