Javon "Teflon" Gordon

Vineland man sentenced for transporting minors in sex trafficking ring:

If you call yourself ‘Teflon’ I am going to use the stick joke every single time. What’s not a joke is what he did.

I originally posted about Javon “Teflon” Gordon here. Back in August of last year he pleaded guilty to running an Atlantic City prostitution ring on craigslist. Not only did the ring include minors but he also used threats of violence and intimidation to keep the girls working for him.

This past week Gordon was sentenced to 15 years in prison. While it’s more than the 10 years I thought he was looking at it’s still not enough.

We are talking about modern-day slavery here. How appalled do you get thinking about slavery in this country prior to the Civil War? Why are you not just as appalled as what goes on today. The only difference is that it transcends racial lines and it involves children being sold for sex and not enough people are fighting against it today.

Richard Roe

FAILED ROBBERY RESULTS IN DEADLY SHOOTING INVOLVING OFF DUTY CORRECTIONS OFFICER:

Prosecutor says eyewitness, cell phone may provide answers in fatal Pleasantville shooting by corrections officer:

This past Thursday 20-year-old Richard Roe was shot and killed in Pleasantville, New Jersey during an alleged Craigslist robbery that went bad. The thing is that the crime is being investigated as Roe being the robber.

25 year-old Sean Czerwinski was accompanying a family member who was selling a pair of headphones for $500. Supposedly two men attempted robbing the pair at gunpoint. However Czerwinski is an Atlantic County Corrections Officer and was armed at the time. Reports say that Czerwinski produced his sidearm and fired at Roe who eventually died from his wounds.

The phone number that called Czerwinski’s family member was said to have been used in other robberies in the area.

I grew up in the area so I can tell you that the name Pleasantville is an oxymoron so this does not surprise me.

Hopefully this will send a message to other would be craigslist robbers in the area that you never know who you’re messing with when you try to rob someone.

‘Craigslist’ pimp sentenced to 10 years in Atlantic City prostitution case:

Atlantic City, NJ craigslist pimps are starting to be like craigslist killers. You can’t say there’s just one as there have been several busted over the last few years.

In this instance 36-year-old Amin Sharif of East Orange, New Jersey has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars in the federal pen for pimping out underage girls on craigslist in America’s Playground. That’s Atlantic City’s nickname by the way.

In addition to several women that Sharif, aka ‘Goldie’, recruited to work for him in AC he also put at least three minor girls on the streets.

10 years is a good start for a sentence but laws need to be made to make the risk of human trafficking more costly than the ‘reward’. More like 40 years for trafficking and a mandatory life sentence for trafficking children. These traffcikers to me are only barely one step above child molesters on the criminal food chain and should stop being treated with kid gloves. They should be prosecuted and sentenced with extreme prejudice.

No woman or child has even been trafficked on Geebo.com.

The fight isn’t over yet. Help spread the word on craigslist and backpage crime by winning a free CraigsCrimeList T-Shirt.

Man admits running prostitution ring that brought girls as young as 14 to Atlantic City:

And here I thought that Atlantic City had cleaned up its prostitution problem but it seems that with the advent of craigslist it has returned.

28-year-old Javon “Teflon” Gordon of Atlantic City, New Jersey pleaded guilty to federal charges of child prostitution. Gordon prostituted at least two girls who were minors. One was a 14 and the other was 17.

One of the venues that Gordon would use to traffic these girls was of course craigslist.

Again the federal government refuses to take these charges seriously as he’s only looking at 10 years total for both charges.

WNY nabs 2 more in prostitution-relation sting; 1 is state employee:

Police in West New York, New Jersey arrested two people on backpage prostitution charges. The person driving the alleged prostitute was 31-year-old Ewar E. Solis and it is believed that he is a State of New Jersey employee, specifically the State Department of Law and Public Safety. How ironic?

Was he just driving her or was he also trafficking her? No pun intended. And again why aren’t the state attorneys general going after backpage and Village Voice Media as well?

Have I mentioned lately that Geebo.com has never had human trafficking on their site? Well they haven’t.

West New York police report making three more prostitution-related arrests:

Police in West New York, New Jersey (it’s a real place, look it up) have arrested three people on charges of prostitution that was advertised on the Village Voice Media owned backpage. That makes 58 arrests for that this year in West New York.

Again the media and the activists should not only be calling on craigslist to put an end to their prostitution dealing but they have to go after Backpage as well. While craigslist is under the gun backpage is escaping all sorts of wrath owed to them.

NJ man robbed at gunpoint during meeting to sell iPhone:

I expect that there will be a lot of these stories in the coming weeks since the iPhone 4 has just been released. The ‘early adapters’ (ie, the people who have to have the newest shiny phone as soon as it comes out) will be unloading their old iPhones on craigslist.

In Linden, New Jersey a man was robbed at gunpoint after placing his iPhone for sale on craigslist. The suspect got away with not only the phone but also $340. The meeting took place in broad daylight in public. So it doesn’t matter where you meet for a craigslist sale, there is still a good chance that you will get robbed.
