Woman charged as online hooker:

Police in Eaton, New Jersey arrested 21-year-old Lemonia Kluginiotis for prostitution. Ms. Kluginiotis was advertising her wares on craigslist.

Lemonia sounds like a floor cleaner and Kluginiotis sounds like what you might catch after you enlist her services.

Pleasantville man found guilty of prostituting underage teen girls from Allentown, Pa. in Atlantic City:

27-year-old Kevin R. Mayfield of Pleasantville, NJ was convicted yesterday of pimping out minor girls on craigslist in Atlantic City.

Mayfield also took nude pictures of the girls to use on the craigslist ad.

Mayfield’s cohort was 25-year-old Casson L. Coward who pleaded guilty back in 2007 and was sentenced to 10 years for his part.

Again I say who says there’s no victims? Are two underage girls not victims enough for you?

I received the following e-mail from Amber in New Jersey about a scam that someone tried to pull on her while looking for an apartment on craigslist…

The guy from the UK used this email: “Alan Erickson” alan.ercks@gmail.com. Now when suspicions arose because I’d asked him to call me a number of times or to send his number for me to call and he never answered certain questions, kept pushing the money wires and some bullshit third party parcel service that’s blacklisted from the Better Business Bureau (www.tnt.com) I googled his name and found a broker in New Jersey who dealt in apartments in and around Montclair where our supposed apt was. I thought….hmm, I’ll call him, sort of beat him to the punch and so I left a message. The REAL Alan Erickson called me back and explained that this guy had done this to many people, and he’s tried to track the guy down and get him for identity theft/fraud. The ad has been removed because we reported for abuse by myself and the real Alan…so I wish I’d have saved it. Basically if it is too good to be true…on Craig’s List it probably is.

Temp accused of running prostitution biz:

David Baker of New Jersey was arrested for running a craigslist prostitution ring while on temp assignments.

Johns would be referred to Somerset Veterinary Group. Why he chose a vet clinic as a front is beyond me. Anyway, when an undercover cop was there he was propositioned by 50-year-old Cathy Rosania.

My favorite part of the story is that the operation was named “Operation Net-Vet Harlot”. That may be the most awesome prostitution sting name yet. Leave it to the boys in the Garden state.

Pleasantville man admits prostituting minors:
I originally posted about this story at MyCrimeSpace back in June. Casson Coward of Pleasantville, New Jersey was arrested back in June for pimping out two girls ages 14 and 16 from Allentown, Pa. on craigslist.

Yesterday Coward pleaded guilty to interstate transporting of minors for the purposes of prostitution. His partner Kevin R. Mayfield was also arrested. Both of them are looking at 10 to life and a $250K fine.

The so-called victimless crime continues.

Man accused of selling pot on Craigslist:
My home state making me proud again…

SOMERVILLE, N.J. (AP) _ Somerset County authorities arrested a man who allegedly used the Internet classified advertising site Craigslist.com to advertise marijuana sales.

John P. Scott, 27, of Springfield Township, Burlington County, was arrested Wednesday on charges of distributing marijuana and hashish.

Authorities said the investigation began when a Montgomery Township detective saw an advertisement for “420 shrubs for sale.”

The classified ad went on to describe the plants as being from Arizona and having a “very nice pungent smell,” authorities said. The advertiser also said he “would consider BARTERING for finer shrubs.”

An undercover detective contacted Scott and met with him and purchased drugs on three different occasions, authorities said. After the third purchase, Scott was arrested.

A craigslist spokesperson had the usual non-answer…

A Craigslist spokeswoman, Susan MacTavish, said illegal activity is banned on the site.

“We cooperate with authorities … and receive high marks from them for our cooperation,” MacTavish said.

You know just because you keep saying that illegal activity is banned on the site it doesn’t make it true.
