Woman’s Dogs Save Her From Craigslist Mauler:

Attempted Rapist Masquerades As Mover On Craigslist:

Metro Woman Says Sexually Assaulted by Online Predator:

A 51-year-old woman from Omaha, Nebraska recently advertised on craigslist for a mover. Personally if I was going to request anything on craigslist one of the last things I would ask for is a mover since they would have to come to your house, but I digress.

Anyway instead of a mover what she got was man who tried to rape her…

“He said he was going to help me alright,” said Sue. “But he said, ‘I’m going to do whatever I want to you.’ And all I could think of was dying.”

Instead of assistance in moving large appliances, Sue tells us the middle-aged man who came to help her intended to rape her.

“I knew what he was going to do to me,” she said. “He was going to bend me over the coffee table and do whatever he wanted to me.”

Luckily, if you can even say luckily in this situation, her dogs barking and growling caused the suspect to lave but not before threatening the woman again…

He left with one last message for the victim, however. “Now that I know where you live, I can come back any time.”

As a man I can not possibly imagine the horror that this woman went through and is still going through since the suspect has not yet been apprehended as far as I can tell. However this goes further to show what kind of scum are trolling craigslist for any instance to violate their victims.

Jared. E. Rosenow

Registered Sex Offender Accused Of Human Trafficking:

In case you needed yet another reason not to cruise craigslist for sex is that you may be blackmailed by a registered sex offender.

In Bellevue, Nebraska an 18-year-old female posted on craigslist, presumably on the casual encounters section, for an encounter with another female. She was contacted by what she believed was a 22-year-old woman. The ‘woman’ allegedly convinced the 18-year-old to send explicit photos of the 18-year-old.

The 18-year-old then received a text message from someone claiming to be the ‘woman’s’ stepbrother saying that the woman was actually a 14-year-old boy and that if she did not have sex with him (the stepbrother) he was going to police.

Instead the 18-year-old went to police and investigators found out that none of what the texter claimed was true. It turned out that the whole scheme was the machinations of one 42-year-old Jared. E. Rosenow of Friend, Nebraska. Rosenow is a registered sex offender. Her was convicted of soliciting a child in Illinois 6 years ago.

Rosenow has been charged with pandering and human trafficking since he attempted to recruit his victim.

Authorities believe Rosenow has done this before and are asking anyone who has information on this type of crime to contact Bellevue police at 402-293-3100.

First off I’m amazed that there is an actual woman on casual encounters if that was the section that the victim used. Secondly nobody should be using casual encounters for casual hook ups. I’m not against casual hook ups per se if that’s your bag but there are way too many predators trolling that section looking for victims. Again I believe that craigslist should remove casual encounters as its potential harm greatly outweighs its potential ‘good’.

Geebo.com proactively removed its personals to avoid problems like this.

Craiglist Scam Targets Used Car Customers:

The Nebraska State Patrol Auto Fraud Division is warning citizens that people in Nebraska have lost large sums of money to the used car scam from ads that are being posted on craigslist.

The scammers pose as out of state sellers and probably offer the car at a ridiculously low price and ask you to wire the money. Of course as you may expect the car doesn’t actually exist.

The Nebraska State Patrol reminds individuals, while there are many good, legitimate deals available via the internet, when it comes to big ticket items such as a motor vehicle, if you can’t see it, touch it, or drive it, you may not want to buy it.

Good advice.

Scams plague locals:

This article is basically about how the craigslist rental scam has turned up in North Platte, Nebraska complete with fake African missionaries.

However the article does bring to light something I had not heard before. According to the article the scammers may even try to pose as former owners of the property using the former owner’s real name.

While clever you still have to look out for the other red flags of the sob story and the request to wire money.
