Woodstock couple plead not guilty to charges:

Timothy and Kimberly Smith of Woodstock, Illinois have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them which led to the shooting death of 48-year-old Kurt Milliman.

If you’ll recall Mr. Milliman allegedly responded to a craigslist ad where Timothy Smith was advertising the prostitution services of his wife. Sometime during the night police say that Timothy Smith shot and killed Mr. Milliman and the couple allegedly concocted a burglary/self-defense explanation for the killing.

Timothy Smith is charged with first-degree murder, pandering, obstructing justice, and pimping. He’s looking at 45 to life. His wife has been charged with obstructing justice, disorderly conduct, and prostitution.

Smith the husband is said to have wept at his plea hearing. Aw, poor baby. You at least still have your life, Kurt Milliman does not.

Police: Couple concocted break-in story:

Police investigating the murder of 48-year-old Kurt Milliman say that his assailant and his wife tried to concoct a home invasion self defense story. They say that Timothy and Kimberly Smith tried to make it seem that Mr. Milliman broke into the house while Timothy smith was not there.

As you may recall police say that Milliman was there because he responded to a prostitution ad on craigslist that the smith’s had placed.

Police say that Timothy Smith allegedly instructed his wife to call his cell phone to make it look like that he wasn’t there at the time of the shooting. So it seems that not only was he trying to cover up that he was pimping his wife out on craigslist but that he may have been trying to implicate her in the murder as well.

What a classy group of people but not surprising for craigslist.

Man who served as wife’s pimp charged in killing:

Add yet another name to the ever increasing list of so called ‘craigslist killers’. 26-year-old Timothy Smith of Woodstock, Illinois is accused of shooting and killing 48-year-old Kurt Milliman during a craigslist prostitution transaction.

From what I can gather Smith was allegedly pimping out his wife, 28-year-old Kimberly Smith, on craigslist. Milliman was at their home in Woodstock supposedly seeking the services of smith’s wife. At some point an altercation took place and police say that Smith shot Milliman.

Smith called police and when they arrived Milliman was still alive but he later died from the gunshot.

Yet again this highlights a few things. The first is obviously that prostitution is obviously still going on through craigslist. The second is that anytime you use the services of a prostitute you’re running a great risk that you could be the victim of a violent crime. Of course lastly, craigslist still needs to moderate the casual encounters section because this is obviously where the prostitution ads have migrated too.
