Man Pleads Not Guilty In Woman’s Death:

19-year-old David Sparre of Jacksonville, Florida is just one in a series (collect the whole set) of alleged ‘craigslist killers’. He’s accused in the July 12th stabbing murder of 21-year-old Tiara Pool. The pair met through craigslist’s personals. I originally posted about the murder here and here.

Still no motive in the brutal murder of the mother of two however prosecutors say they are seeking the death penalty.

One of these days I’ll take the 15 minutes to number all the craigslist killers that I know about.

22-year-old Gerald Isaiah Thomason showed up at the Polk County, Florida craigslist and backpage prostitution bust with his 22-year-old girlfriend, a 17-year-old girl and his 9-month-old baby. Police say he was prostituting the 17-year-old girl. No word on how much money he would have taken for the baby.

Deputies say son drove mother to sex appointment:

This is sort of a follow up to the major craigslist/backpage prostitution bust in Polk County, Florida.

23-year-old Lawson Wayne Bracewell III was charged with deriving money from prostitution in that bust for driving his mother, 40-year-old Pamela J. Small, to her appointment to have sex for money with some stranger from craigslist or backpage. Bracewell was charged because his mom gave him $50 to drive her to her sex appointment. I wonder why she couldn’t drive herself? Lost license maybe? And I don’t mean misplaced.

I don’t think Small was being trafficked in my opinion since she was also working as a waitress at Big Boy’s. Between the look of them I wouldn’t be surprised if at least one of them was feeding a habit and you know what I mean.

When asked for a comment Bracewell said “I’ll be telling my side of the story in court.” Let me know how that works out for you Zippy.

44 arrested in craigslist and backpage prostitution ring

77-year-old man, pregnant woman, teen among dozens charged in prostitution sting:

Hot off the heels of their craigslist sting of 15 alleged child predators the Polk County Sheriff’s Department in Florida has produced another major bust.

This past weekend they arrested 44 said to be part of a prostitution ring that did business on both craigslist and the Village Voice Media owned backpage. Among those arrested were a 77-year-old pimp, a pregnant woman and a 17-year-old girl.

I’m not going to list the women because a lot of them are victims themselves but I will list some of the highlights. I’ll be listing some of the men who either solicited or profited.

Virgil Stanton, 77, of Auburndale is charged with Deriving Proceeds from Prostitution.

Shedy Ibrahim, 25, of Orlando is charged with Deriving Proceeds from Prostitution, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Cannabis with intent to sell, Possession of Cannabis, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Gerald Thomason, 19, of Lake Wales is charged with Deriving Proceeds from Prostitution, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Resisting without Violence.

Lawson Bracewell, 23, of Deltona is charged with Deriving Proceeds from Prostitution.

Jerome Holt, 23, of Lutz is charged with Soliciting another for Prostitution.

Randy Casey, 29, of Sanford is charged with Deriving Proceeds from Prostitution.

Kabir S. Sanchez Diaz, 25, of Orlando is charged with Deriving Proceeds from Prostitution, Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Raymond Lewis James, 33, of Tampa is charged with Deriving Proceeds from Prostitution.

Joseph Renfort, 34, of Winter Haven is charged with Soliciting another for Prostitution.

Justin Shelley, 36, of Tampa is charged with Soliciting another for Prostitution.

These people are the real problem and should be jailed for a long time. Give them a sentence that really hurts and not some damn fine. If you want to do something serious about prostitution jail the pimps and johns. Cut off both the supply and the demand.

This story does bring up two issues though.

The first shows that craigslist isn’t really moderating the adult services ads. If they were then how did their ads get past the moderators? The police didn’t place these ads, they just responded to them.

The second is that Village Voice Media obviously doesn’t give a crap about child prostitution and human trafficking and they still escape most media and legal outrage.

Did I mention I know the people who run Geebo.com? The classifieds that actually have a conscience.

Skittles, rubbers and Red Bull, oh my. 15 arrested in craigslist child predator sting

Craigslist sting: Men with Skittles, condoms accused of child-sex attempts:

The Polk County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office placed ads on craigslist, presumably in the casual encounters section, posing as either the parents of teen girls or as teen girls seeking ‘guidance’. For those of you lacking in subtlety that means they were looking for sex for the imagined teen girls.

Through those ads they were able to arrest 15 men. A lot of them brought condoms to meet with the underage girl. One brought some Skittles candy and another brought Red Bull and vodka. Some of them expected to have sex with the underage girls and their mothers or care givers.

Arrested were Brandon Cashen, 31, Jason Shulman, 36, Javier Alberto Diaz, 23, Robert Ferguson, 23, Tommy Dupre, 33, Dominick Overeem, 40, Kevin Scott, 36, Joshua Adam Hunt, 19, Donald Knuckles, 67, William Jackson, 29, (he allegedly wanted to have sex with a 10-year-old girl) Gregory Alan Archambault II, 22, Leon Brisson, 33, Mark McClure, 44, Raymond Damon, 43, and Robert Chan, 38. Please read the entire article to see just how sick these scumbags are.

The ironic thing is that craigslist shouts from the rooftops about how compliant they are with the National Center for Missing and Exploited children and that their casual encounters ads say “Please report suspected exploitation of minors to the appropriate authorities”. As usual that makes me wonder how many of these ads were either flagged by the so called community policing or were referred to local law enforcement. It also goes to show why I think that the casual encounters section should be closed down along with the adult services section.

I’m sure craigslist will say that this shows how they comply with law enforcement but I seriously doubt that they were working with the police on this sting.

This also shows just what kind of people are cruising the casual encounters section. A lot of pedophiles and dog fuckers.

Cops: Craigslist car scammer got greedy, got caught:

20-year-old Anthony Parkhurst was arrested in Orlando, Florida for allegedly selling a stolen car on craigslist, stealing it again and trying to sell it again on craigslist.

Supposedly he’s part of a larger statewide ring of car thieves.

And to show that their serious the City of Orlando put his bond at $4000 which he posted and he’s now free.

I wonder if that $4000 was from selling the stolen car.

Police: Mother met killer on Craigslist:

21-year-old Tiara Pool is the woman that Jacksonville, Florida police say was stabbed to death by 19-year-old David Sparre after meeting him on craigslist.

There’s been some more details released about Ms. Pool which makes the story even more tragic.

Ms. Pool was a mother of two children and was going to college. While she was married her marriage was trouble. Unfortunately she made the fatal mistake of using craigslist to try and meet someone new.

As you can see I posted a picture of Ms. Pool which I normally don’t do. I did that because I wanted to show you one of the reasons as to why Ms. Pool’s murder has not cracked the national media.

The two reasons are, in no particular order, is that Ms. Pool is black and that this happened in the South. If Ms. Pool was white and this murder took place in the media-centric Northeast this would be a bigger story.

Hopefully with sites like mine and others the word can be spread of the dangers like this that lurk on craigslist and that victims like Ms. Pool will not be forgotten.

Beware of fake craigslist checks from Acura of Libertyville

Check-cashing scam targets Vero Beach man via Craigslist:

A man in Vero Beach, Florida was trying to sell a doghouse he made on craigslist for $400. He received a check from Acura of Libertyville in Illinois and told to wire the difference to someone in Colorado. Luckily the man knew that he was being scammed and did not cash the check as it was fake.

The Acura dealership, which is also a victim in this, had this to say…

The check is a forgery that has been repeated hundreds of times since late April, said Cheryl Pope, controller for the car dealership, Acura of Libertyville.

“Somebody got hold of a check that we sent to one of our vendors and sent it to people all over the country and told them to cash it,” she said. “This has been a nightmare.”

Pope said the account was closed within days, as soon as the last legitimate check was cashed. But the forgeries continued.

Again be careful for checks that are over the amount, checks that are from a 3rd party, and being asked to wire money. These are all red flags when it comes to scams.

It is possible to screen ads so that things like this are far less likely to happen. Try Geebo.com, where they screen all their ads before they are ever posted on their site.

Teen Arrested In Woman’s Slaying:

19-year-old David Kelsey Sparre of Georgia has been arrested in the July 12th murder of 21-year-old Tiara Pool.

The pair are said to have met through the craigslist personals after Ms. Pool placed an ad. Ms. Pool was found dead in her apartment of multiple stab wounds.

Sparre was arrested in South Carolina where he was staying with family. He allegedly admitted to stabbing Ms. Pool but so far no motive has been given.

Police say that Ms. Pool was married but her husband was on active duty with the Navy.

I have yet to finds what section of craigslist the ad was posted in but since Ms. Pool was married I’m going to assume casual encounters.

In case you needed yet another reason not to hook up anonymously on craigslist this should be your wake up call if you haven’t gotten the other multiple wake up calls.

I also wonder if this story will crack the national media since it didn’t happen in New York or Boston.

Woman gave away neighbor’s trailer on craigslist

Woman sold neighbor’s trailer on craigslist:

Since CCL is its own full time blog again I can’t slack off on the little stories anymore.

Anyway, 29-year-old Vanessa Kimball of Land O’ Lakes, Florida, which as well all know is made completely out of butter, has been arrested in grand theft charges.

It seems that she was upset with a neighbor’s trailer in the apartment complex’s parking lot, so she allegedly listed it for free on craigslist. Of course someone came and picked it up. The trailer was returned but the owner says it was returned damaged.

Again of craigslist removed the perceived notion of anonymity from its site, which is just one of the many things that should be removed, neighbor pissing matches would be just one of the crimes that would be quelled on its pages.
