Brockton police: fifth woman has come forward in Craigslist case:

I originally posted about Luther Mark Henderson here. He’s the man from Brockton, Mass. accused of robbing two craigslist escorts at gunpoint. Now three more women have come forward saying the same thing had happened to them.

The sad part is that the police can’t confirm yet if the latest 3 were arrested by Henderson yet. Which means there could be more women who have had ads placed on craigslist getting possibly robbed at gunpoint by other men. As I mentioned before a lot of prostitutes don’t even get to keep the money they make as it’s taken by their pimps or traffickers.

Yet craigslist still insists that the adult services section causes no harm.

Stay tuned Monday for the next chance to win your own craigscrimelist t-shirt.

Third woman charged in Craigslist ad attempted robbery:

I originally posted about the Bullock sisters who were arrested for an attempted robbery in Wendell, North Carolina here. Now a third suspect has been arrested and she is 32-year-old Sherie Brooks.

Brooks has a criminal record going back 13 years.

Stay tuned Monday for the next chance to win your own craigscrimelist t-shirt.

Brockton man accused of making Craigslist escorts strip naked at gunpoint before robbing them:

Police in Brockton, Mass. have arrested 35-year-old Luther Mark Henderson for allegedly robbing escorts that advertised on craigslist. He’s accused of forcing them to strip down and robbing them at gunpoint.

The insular Boston media likens Henderson’s MO to that of the recently deceased Philip Markoff. What they fail to mention is that Markoff did not invent robbing craigslist escorts. This has been going on at least as long as I’ve been doing this blog.

The worst part is that these women that are forced to work on craigslist usually do not even have money of their own. They usually have to give all their money to their pimps or traffickers. I wonder how many women and girls have been beaten or worse by their pimps after they’ve been robbed.

Stay tuned next week for the next chance to win your own craigscrimelist t-shirt.

Again if you want to use a free classifieds site that is free of human trafficking I recommend Geebo.com.

Raleigh man’s craigslist deal no bargain when bullets fly:

28-year-old Sherida Quanette Bullock and 21-year-old Acqua Bullock, both of Wendell, North Carolina, were arrested for allegedly trying to rob a man who thought he was buying smart phones off of craigslist.

Shots were fired but luckily the victim was not injured.

Like I say, friends don’t let friends use Craigslist. But we need somewhere to go for classified ads. Personally, I recommend Geebo.com for a socially responsible alternative to community classifieds.

But you can’t get robbed when you win a free CCL t-shirt.

3 robbed in Milton after responding to Craigslist ad:

3 men from Rhode Island were robbed at gunpoint after responding to a craigslist ad from Milton, Mass. for a TV. The address they were sent to was a vacant apartment. One of the victims went inside alone where he was held at gun point by two men. The suspects then went and got the other two victims out of the car. All the victims were robbed of their cash and belongings and one was even beaten. The two suspects are still at large.

Considering one of the victims went into the apartment by himself leads me to believe that he thought doing business on craigslist is a safe experience when obviously it isn’t. As I’ve said before craigslist is the online hive of scum and villainy and you’d be surprised how many people are unaware of this.

Don’t forget to enter to win your own CCL T-Shirt so you can help make people more aware.

Craigslist scammers rob man at gunpoint in Vallejo:

A San Francisco man was robbed of $2000 in Vallejo, California after responding to a craigslist ad for a used car.

While the man was looking for an address that didn’t exist a man jumped out of the bushes and robbed the man at gunpoint.

Police say this is the second time a craigslist robbery like this has happened in the area.

Again when you use a website that has a low threshold of entry and unmonitored ads criminals are bound to flock to it.

Sheriff: Craigslist buyer shot during transaction in Lathrop:

A man from Sacramento, California was shot during a robbery in Lathrop, California. The man traveled to Lathrop in order to buy some laptops from a craigslist seller. I wonder if the laptops were of the ‘fruited’ variety.

Anyway the seller turned out to be a robber. The pair struggled for the gun held by the assailant. The man was able to get the gun away but not before being shot twice. Luckily the injuries he sustained were not life threatening.

Again if craigslist took away the perceived notion of anonymity on their site or even started *gasp* charging for ads this wouldn’t be such a common occurrence.

Authorities say car-jackers used Craigslist for crimes:

18-year-old Darius Brown, 17-year-old Bobby Kyles, and 15-year-old Jacobi Morris of Flint, Michigan have all been arrested for various robberies and carjackings using craigslist to lure their victims.

They allegedly posted ads for iPhones ‘selling’ at $300 or two for $500. When the buyers arrived they were either robbed of their money or their car.

Again if the price sounds too good to be true it usually is. Don’t risk your life getting the latest shiny new toy.

NJ man robbed at gunpoint during meeting to sell iPhone:

I expect that there will be a lot of these stories in the coming weeks since the iPhone 4 has just been released. The ‘early adapters’ (ie, the people who have to have the newest shiny phone as soon as it comes out) will be unloading their old iPhones on craigslist.

In Linden, New Jersey a man was robbed at gunpoint after placing his iPhone for sale on craigslist. The suspect got away with not only the phone but also $340. The meeting took place in broad daylight in public. So it doesn’t matter where you meet for a craigslist sale, there is still a good chance that you will get robbed.
