Arizona Amber Alert over carigslist baby sitter

Amber alert generates buzz on best way to find sitters:
I don’t know how I missed this story but last week an Amber Alert was issued in Arizona for a missing 1 1/2 -year-old boy.

15-year-old Amanda Nicole Rainey took 18-month-old Michael Wolfe from his parents’ house in Surprise, Arizona. Rainey was hired to be a live in nanny for Michael by Michael’s father. Mr. Wolfe’s mistake? He hired her off of craigslist. Mr. Wolfe thought she was 19 and not 15. It also turns out that Rainey is believed to be a meth user.

Luckily Michael was unharmed. Not so lucky however was Micahel’s father as Arizona CPS has taken custody of the child pending an investigation.

Rainey had taken the child claiming that he was being abused but that allegation appears to be unfounded.

I think this is just a case of a man making a stupid mistake. Let him have his kid back.

Personally, baby sitters would be the last service I would look for on craigslist. I’d sooner hire some kid from MySpace to be a house sitter.
