My name is Trench Reynolds. I’ve been blogging about crime since 2000.

CraigsCrimeList actually started out as just a section of another site of mine, MyCrimeSpace. As you can guess that site is about crimes as they relate to social networking sites. I originally posted crimes relating to craigslist at that site as craigslist was once considered one of the very first social networking sites.

As time went on the stories about craigslist and other classifieds sites became so abundant they started becoming the majority of stories I posted at MCS so I decided to give the classifieds crimes their own site which is the one you see today.

This is not a personal attack on online classifieds sites per se however some of them such as craigslist and the Village Voice Media owned backpage.com have engaged in certain business practices I feel are detrimental not only to their user base but to the public at large.

My goal here is not only act as a type of consumer advocate but to also bring attention to the crimes that are being perpetrated on an unsuspecting public facilitated by the bad business practices of some of these classifieds sites.
