Adult services censored on Craigslist:
As I’m sure most have you have heard by now craigslist has removed the link to the adult services section from it’s main U.S. sites and replaced it with a black censored bar as seen above. Does this mean that craigslist has finally seen the light and put an end to human trafficking on its sites? I doubt it.
This feels like some kind of publicity stunt/protest to me. So far craigslist has not publicly commented on the change but I get the feeling we’ll be hearing some first amendment rhetoric on it. Even of they are getting rid of adult services this would only be a small victory as the old erotic services section still exists on craigslists outside the U.S.
Even if they did would I use craiglist or end this site? Hardly. Craigslist still has a plethora of problems outside just the adult services section and there’s still the Village Voice Media owned backpage to worry about. I would still use Geebo.com instead.
