Brutal stabbing in Battle Creek investigated as anti-gay hate crime:

A 45-year-old gay man was brutally stabbed in a Battle Creek, Michigan park. What was first seen as a car jacking may now be a hate crime.

After the man was stabbed some hate filled posts began to appear on craigslist.

“I warned you, you dumb queer.” The message also said. “I e-mailed and said I have something … but you did not think it was a knife did you. Now you are in the hospital and your car is in the river. I warned you.”

Then, according to the Michigan Messenger, a second Craigslist posting appeared were the poster denied responsibility in the assault. The post was filled with anti-gay slurs and references to AIDS. The writer claims that the previous post was “to keep the fags out of the parks, and I am the one that did it. It is not safe to take children to parks or for a walk in the woods without running into a dick sucking party.”

Considering that craigslist and public parks are involved I am going to make an assumption that the victim was cruising craigslist. I am not blaming the victim if that assumption is correct however by engaging in such a dangerous practice he put himself in harms way.

As I’ve said before both gay and straight people need to stop cruising on craigslist for anonymous sex. Isn’t it obvious about the type of people that are on craigslist? And by type of people I mean psychos and sociopaths.

    Your rants are somewhat bias and wrong. I think 1 out of every 10,000,000 users on the personals section of craigslist is stupid enough to do what your article mentioned above (which would be 0.000001%) . About 1 out of every 100 is just a perv collecting pictures but wouldn’t kill someone/bother to meet someone in public/overall is harmless. These type of people are easy to screen though with the right questions/dialect. Just like you would at a bar or church, you need to engage in some dialect with the person you’re hoping to hook up with to see if they are a mutual match/have the same intellect, and are of legal age. If they don’t end up being a mutual match, it’s very easy just to say “no” when they come to your front door. I find craigslist to be a great source to hook up with people for some 1-1 safe fun or date. It’s no different than hitting on people at a dingy bar, public event, or some cheap social function.

      Never claimed not top be bias but I’m not talking about the personals section as much as I am about the casual encounters section.

      After revenge rapes and multitudes of harassment have been orchestrated on that section not to mention the cruisers that have been assaulted, robbed, blackmailed and in this case stabbed I recommend that section of the site is in definite need of real moderation or needs to be shut down altogether.
