Sex offender pleads guilty in kids’ case:

Canada, I know you have a reputation to maintain as the friendly polite country but do you really have to extend that to child molesters?

Case in point, the story of 40-year-old Daryl Koluk of Hamilton, Ontario. In 2001 he was sentenced to a mere 6 months for sexually abusing children. He was already on the sex offender registry when he took an ad out on the eBay owned Kijiji last year advertising help cleaning his apartment. So who answered the ad? A 12-year-old boy and his two friends, that’s who.

You know I’m all about teaching kids the value of a dollar, or in this case a Loonie, but who the hell lets their kids go clean the apartment of some stranger from a website?

Anyway, Koluk offered the kids more money of they would lay on his bed. One of the boys agreed and Koluk gave him oral sex for $40. It happened four more times as well earning the victim $200. And oh yeah, they did this in front of the other kids.

Police found a picture of one of the victims who was 11 and I quote “shown in bondage gear, with a ball stuffed in his mouth, a steel collar around his neck and his body tied up with rope.”

Koluk pleaded guilty to child molestation charges and what do you think he got for his troubles? He was sentenced to only four years in prison.

Now I’m not usually one to believe in conspiracies but why do these ridiculously short sentences keep getting handed out to dangerous child molesters. Is it maybe because this kind of wretched behavior goes on within the walls of the private lives of government officials and they don’t want to damn themselves to a long prison term? And I don’t just mean Canada either. It also goes on in the US, the UK, Australia and most of the so called civilized world.

These types of officials should be investigated but to coin a cliche who watches the watchmen?

    Just heard that this predator is being released back into society this fall (2011) so the first time he only got 6 months, was released and got 4 years but is only serving one year??? WTF? He definately has proved he CANNOT be rehabilitated, and as a repeat offender of such heinus acts I was shocked he was only given the initial 4 yrs.. but now out in less than one year is totally unacceptable to me. I wish I knew if there was something I could do to change this, or in the very least to show my extreme objections that I have about letting this offender out so soon.
    He’s not well, and history shows he will do this again. Only difference will he’s  going to try and make sure harder that he’s never caught again… so what’s next for him?? making sure that there are no victims left alive to ‘tell on him’ next time?  I’m appauled and sickened.

    Just wanted to comment on this as one of the parents of one of the kids in this case and i too am appauled as well.
    My son was the one that opened up and notified adults of what is going on. Its easy to ask how you can let your kids do this but as a parent of a VERY independant single child there were absolutley No signs that anything was going on.

      I’m so sorry your child ran into this predator.. He was married to my best friend while he committed his first offences and  I was close to the kids that he hurt.. It was a shocking, disturbing and revolting time. He met my friend when she was a single mom to 2 kids and I truly believe now he had his eye on those kids and married her to get to them, as well as some of their friends and other young family members, then later his own two young  boys :(   These predators are evil, they know how to fool many and it’s damn scary that he’s going to be back out again and in same area.
