A cautionary hooker tale

The Real Girlfriend Experience:

This is a great article from Micheal J. Mooney of The Broward-Palm Beach New Times. He basically arranged dates with craigslist hookers and interviewed them. But not ‘dates’, he took them on honest to God dates and did not have sex with them.

For women who maybe contemplating becoming an escort the article highlights just how sad and dangerous their lives are and it also shows how the girls can become dead inside.

For prospective johns it shows that these girls are actually human beings and not just your rental sex toys.

Judge Smith, who probably isn't really a judge, since judges can typically spell… I think the goal of the site is two tiered, the first being: Get CL to admit they are full of shit. The second being: To get the erotic services section deleted. Not that I speak for anyone affiliated with this site, but it isn't all about the hooker bashing, and the hookers are to be treated as victims, IMO. This article, if nothing else exemplifies that (although I haven't read it yet).

I do not believe that Trench has anything against shamans. Do you have reason to believe otherwise?

shamans? I have no idea what you mean.Trench said on another post, that he has this website mainly to get people to click on ads so he can make money.Trench is profitting from crime perpetuated on innocent people, and if he thinks the Gods smile upon that, he is in for a surprise. His condecending tone, in his comments to other demonstrates he has no tolerance for different views. If he was in charge, the USA would be a lot like Biejing. While there are many problems he could spend his time on, he has chosen to put up this advertising front ( supposedly anti-craigslist ) while he is actually making money riding craigslist coat tails.

You claim Trench has problems with the world's oldest profession, yet you don't even know what it is? I'm not too surprised.Trench is not making money from the crime. He is making money from reporting the crime. There is considerable difference between the two activities.I confess that I am far from certain of this point, but it seems to me that Trench views this domain as a house of sorts, and his house as his castle. One can boot people off of one's legitimate property for nearly any reason without being unethical. If it were only about the money, Trench would not likely be trying to set fire to the coattails on which he rides.

"any publicity, is good publicity", just spell Craig's name correctly ( but please do not rely on my bad spelling for that;)People do a lot of strange things for non-apparent reasons. But no matter how you cut it, making money by reporting crimes is making money on crime. One trait of humans is the ability to rationalize one's actions. If Trench wants to dream he is doing good, nothing we can say will change that, but if he looks hard into the mirror, or sees someone else doing something similar, I am sure he will see what he is really doing.Id do sfotware, and web sites……When a BIG HOLE is found in our software, or web platform, we DO NOT run out and tell the world. If we did, then everyone would come swarming through the hole. We just fix the hole. One thing this web site does quite well is inform crimminals on ideas on how to perpetuate crimes using Craigslist. THEN this website can report those crimes, and people will come here, read the crime, click the adsense, and well, it is self perpetuating, and making money on crime. If you want to discount my point due to por spelling, OK, buit the point is clear, this web site is making money on crimes perpetuated against the innocent.

First of all, please see my most recent comment at http://craigscrimelist.org/2008/09/22/we-get-letters-its-a-long-one/ . I do not feel a need to restate it here.Second of all, there is a flaw in your software analogy. You have the power to correct it, of your own accord, without needing to convince someone of a problem, someone who has given you every reason to believe that he doesn't care about the problem and is not interested in correcting it. So, unfortunately, after other methods have been attempted to resolve the problem, there are only a few options left. The first one is to simply stop caring about the problem and let it be. The second one is armed conflict, which, while amusing, is not a particularly good way of going about things. The third method is to attempt to publicly shame the guy who doesn't care until he either feels guilty enough to deal with it or, he realizes that it is in his best interest financially to fix it, as former customers refuse to deal with him any more, or he gets shuts down by the feds. Needless to say, I suspect Trench has chosen the last method.Third of all, while your misspelling may annoy me, it does not invalidate your points.

Craigslist is a solvable problem. I don't think the idea that blotters train criminals to be more effective at crime makes a lot of sense, since, if they wind up on the blotter they got caught and they aren't so much of a criminal mastermind. If anything I would hope it discourages some criminal minded individuals from using CL for the crimes. Which does prevent crime, in a sense.
