Scam leaves traveler ticketless:
craigslist says that there’s a new scam going around but it’s really just an old scam in a new wrapper.
Scammers are selling bogus airline tickets on craiglist. They sell them at a ridiculously low price then ask the buyer to wire them the money. Then when the buyer gets to the gate they find out that the tickets were purchased with a fraudulent credit card.
Let’s hear some hilarious words from craigslist CEO Jim Buckmaster…
“We really hate to see Craigslist misused for illegal purposes. That’s kind of our job number one, to try to eliminate that stuff and get it off the site,” said Buckmaster.
Sure it is Jim. Sure it is. If eliminating illegal activity on craigslist is job #1 then this site wouldn’t even exist.
Anyway, who would buy airline tickets from craigslist to begin with? That just screams scam to me.
