‘Bring boxes, bring trucks, bring rope!’:
An ad was placed on craigslist recently that in North Plymouth, Mass. that said a woman was moving and she was getting rid of all her stuff for free.
Someone posted a notice on Craigslist, the online network of free classified advertisements, stating that Maria was moving to the United Kingdom and was giving away the entire contents of her house between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Maria supposedly would not help with the lifting, but everything was supposed to be free.
“Bring boxes, bring trucks, bring rope!” the posting read.
Since you’re reading this here it’s safe to assume that Maria did not place the ad herself, had no plans to move, and was not getting rid of her stuff. Of course tons of people were gullible enough to show up looking for free stuff.
Only by the grace of God was Maria’s house not ransacked…
She and her family had not expected to be home Saturday but an illness in the family kept them in town.
As long as craigslist keeps maintaining its policy of complete anonymity we’ll see more stories like this in the future. Obviously people are gullible enough to believe anything they read.

Nunna Yo Damn Bidness
I don’t care what people say, paranoia keeps people alive! ESPECIALLY out here in the NW - yes, I’ve noticed - and been on the receiving end - of all the NW sociopaths on Craigslist whose exploits make it on to this site.
CL CAN be a way to meet nice people, but you have to be careful in this day and age - sad to say - who you piss off. I was naive enough to send my picture in an email to someone on CL and he posted it himself and told lies about me - and I’d never even met him!
For anyone out there trying to meet a friend on CL, be super-smart about it - ALWAYS meet in public, never send anyone your photo, use a yahoo! email address with a fake name on it, and ask lots of questions of the other person and do a background check! Never let anyone into your home or know where you live until you’ve been out with them a number of times.
It’s a sad world that we live in that we have to constantly be mistrustful of people, but that’s the way it is.
