Yesterday I received an e-mail from the administrator of the Blogging about Flugpo Blog asking me to review the website Flugpo. Flugpo is an online classified site that as Squidoo puts it’s craigslist meets MySpace but in a good way.
Flugpo corrects a major flaw that craigslist has, anonymity. With Flugpo each user and seller has a MySpace-like profile. While it’s not perfect I think it goes a long way to discourage criminal activity that has been running rampant on craigslist.
I asked the blogger, Kelly, just two questions. I asked if she was an employee of Flugpo and what is Flugpo’s policy on ads for ‘erotic services’.
Kelly answered that not only was she an employee but she was a user who liked the site so much that she went to work for Flugpo. As far as the erotic ads go Kelly said she had actually never seen one on Flugpo. She had to ask the Flugpo’s owner about it and he said…
“We don’t allow people to solicit sex or prostitution, or say crude things, etc. I have deleted a few profiles that have tried to do that in the personals”.
That was all I needed to know.
Flugpo gets the vaunted and lofty Trench Reynolds seal of approval and I would definitely recommend it as a better alternative to craigslist.
(Disclosure: this was an non-compensated review)
