Man pleads guilty to extortion

Man admits trying to extort married man answering phony Craigslist ad:
Back in November I posted about an Oregon pair who tried to blackmail a married man when he responded to a date ad on craigslist.

The plan backfired when the married man had no reservations about going to police.

One of those accused in the scam, 21-year-old Andrew Joseph McIntyre, pleaded guilty to the extortion scheme. He was sentenced to 60 days in county lockup, can not use the internet unless for work or school, and has to pay $500 restitution and a $1,000 fine.

No word yet on the fate of his cohort.
