Extortion scam backfires

Two Charged In Craigslist Extortion Case:

21-year-olds Andrew McIntyre and Nicholas Hayter of Oregon are accused of placing a fake ad on craigslist. The ad portrayed a female that was looking for a date. The article doesn’t say if it was a date or a “date”. Anyway a 59-year-old married man responded to the ad but when he showed up for his date he was approached by McIntyre and Hayter. They tried to get $1000 from the man or else they would tell his wife. Well that idea didn’t work. The victim went to police and the pair were promptly arrested.

This story brought to you in case you needed another reason not to use craigslist for dates. With quotes or otherwise.
